VISION, MISSION AND VALUES
The European Faculty of Law at the New University (NU, Euro-PF) has a clearly defined mission and vision, both of which reflect its commitment to broader recognition and quality. To implement these, the faculty has developed a strategy incorporated into the Action Plan for the Realization of the Mission and Vision of NU, Euro-PF.
1. VISION
The vision of the European Faculty of Law at the New University is to be an excellent educational and research institution, educating future legal experts and professionals in the field of law and real estate management. The faculty aims to contribute to shaping the Slovenian and European future and to hold a significant position within the Slovenian and broader research space.
2. MISSION
The mission of the European Faculty of Law at the New University is to educate generations of legal experts and professionals in the field of law and real estate management, equipping them to effectively address the challenges of a changing world. The faculty aims to transfer knowledge and experience while expanding the impact of research in the broader public space, thereby helping shape an informed and socially engaged community with an understanding of the system in which we operate and the knowledge to develop and improve it. The following principles guide this mission:
We are inclusive and collaborative. The faculty fosters openness and inclusivity, maintaining connections with alumni through its alumni club and with current students through various activities that go beyond the traditional academic process. These include sports events and extracurricular activities that strengthen community ties. The faculty provides a space for students to connect, network, share knowledge and skills, and express their individuality within a collective. We foster partnerships and collaborate with societal stakeholders—such as the judiciary, industry, other academic institutions, and international academic communities—through both teaching and research.
We think broadly. We view and interpret challenges as opportunities for growth and development. The educational process is designed to prepare students for the dynamic job market, not limited to Slovenia but embedded in a broader European and international context. The research process responds to the needs of Slovenian, European, and global communities and engages with a wide range of societal stakeholders. We spread and share knowledge.
Our voice is heard. We are committed to socially engaged action. Our educational and research efforts foster cohesion, support sustainable society and learning, and contribute to an inclusive society. Our voice is heard through scientific excellence and a focus on addressing current societal issues both in Slovenia and beyond.
3. VALUES
The European Faculty of Law at the New University grounds its values in the constitutional and national foundations of the Republic of Slovenia and embraces the values of the European Union: respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law, and respect for human rights, including the rights of minorities. The faculty’s operations are rooted in pluralism, non-discrimination, tolerance, fairness, solidarity, and equality in the society of which it is a part. In both its academic and research activities, the faculty adheres to the highest ethical standards, academic excellence, and academic freedom, respecting institutional autonomy while promoting social responsibility and a sustainable constitutional democracy.
